On September 2nd, 2020, the China-Arab States Technology Transfer Center (CASTTC) and the Arab Academy of Science, Technology and Maritime Transport held an online match-making conference, where the two sides exchanged greetings and conducted in-depth communication on how to carry out scientific and technological cooperation under the influence of COVID-19. Ms. Nashwa El Bendary, director of the China-Arab States (AASTMT) Technology Transfer Center, pointed out that China has made remarkable achievements in fighting with the COVID-19. At present, the positive rate of the COVID-19 in Egypt is basically flat, but the outbreak curve still fluctuates from time to time. She hoped that the CASTTC would contact the disease control department and relevant experts to conduct an online training lecture on the implementation of effective virus disinfection, epidemic handling and prevention. In addition, the two sides agreed to jointly hold online technology promotion activities recently, and organize relevant enterprises and government departments of the Egypt to conduct accurate match-making with Chinese enterprises in the fields of public safety, soil and water conservation, space satellites, and deep processing of agricultural products, striving to conclude specific cooperation projects. They also proposed to reach the goal of long-term cooperation with China in the fields of smart vehicles, food safety, fisheries as well as new energy, and jointly explore long-term scientific and technological cooperation in the above areas.
