On the afternoon of August 16, 2024, more than 20 trainees with the Standardized Livestock Farming Technology Training Workshop for Arab Countries (hereinafter referred to as “the workshop”) visited the Ningxia Exhibition Center for Science and Technology Cooperation between East and West China (hereinafter referred to as “the center”). These trainees came from Egypt, Iraq, Mauritania, Palestine and other Belt and Road partners. After visiting the center, they learned about the outstanding scientific and technological achievements in Ningxia’s advantageous and specialty industries, such as energy and chemical engineering, intelligent manufacturing, new materials, and goji berries. They also expressed cooperation needs toward the China-Arab States Technology Transfer Center (CASTTC) in areas like 3D printing, water-saving irrigation, and clean energy, etc. The trainees indicated that China’s cutting-edge scientific and technological achievements in these fields are impressive, and praised Ningxia’s innovative application of the model of science and technology cooperation between East and West China. Moreover, they hope this model can be extended to China-Arab cooperation to promote the application of more advanced and practical technologies in Arab countries by the platform of CASTTC.

  This workshop was hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of China and organized by the Forestry and Grassland Ecology Research Institute of Ningxia Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences. It focused on enhancing the standardized livestock farming technology and meeting the practical needs of the livestock industry in Arab countries, and consisted of activities such as systematic courses, field visits, and achievement displays. By doing so, the training workshop aimed to deepen the exchange and cooperation in science and technology between China and Arab countries, and to cultivate technical talents in relevant fields for Arab countries.
