From August 24 to September 7, 2025, the International Training Workshop on Clean Energy was successfully held in Yinchuan, Ningxia, and Wuhan, Hubei. Jointly organized by the China-Arab States Technology Transfer Center (CASTTC) and the China-Africa Innovation Cooperation Center (CAICC), with support from the West Asia-North Africa Office of the Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization (GEIDCO) and other institutions, the workshop served as one of the five key activities of the Technology Transfer and Innovation Cooperation Conference at the 7th China-Arab States Expo. It created synergies with High-Level Dialogue on Science and Technology Cooperation and Artificial Intelligence Technology Matchmaking Meeting held concurrently, establishing an efficient platform for technology transfer, talent development, and industrial cooperation in clean energy between China, Arab states, and other Belt and Road Initiative countries.

The workshop featured lectures from 11 experts from institutions such as Hohai University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Hubei University of Technology, and Ningxia Zhongke Jiaye New Energy Research Institute (Co., Ltd.). The curriculum covered key areas including standards and applications of photovoltaic power generation systems, silicon material preparation technology, digitalized operation and maintenance of new energy systems, principles of solar cells, and trends in new energy storage, spanning the entire chain from technology R&D and manufacturing to industrial application.  During field visits, trainees toured leading industry institutions and benchmark enterprises such as Yinchuan Longi Photovoltaic Technology Co., Ltd., Longi Meter Co., Ltd., Hubei University of Technology Laboratories, Wuhan New Energy Institute Co., Ltd., and Wuhan Rixin Technology Co., Ltd. These visits provided in-depth understanding of practical applications of cutting-edge technologies including large-size silicon wafer production, intelligent PV operation and maintenance, and building-integrated photovoltaics, offering firsthand insight into the scale and innovative strength of Chinas clean energy industry.

The workshop attracted active participation from government officials, university researchers, and technology enterprise managers from multiple countries including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Tunisia, and Morocco. Through specialized lectures, case studies, seminars, and site visits, the workshop systematically enhanced trainees professional capabilities in clean energy and strengthened international consensus on green development. They widely acknowledged that the training not only deepened their understanding of key technologies such as photovoltaics and energy storage but also built practical channels for technology and research cooperation and project implementation between China and their home countries, fueling optimism about advancing local new energy development.

The successful execution of the workshop has further expanded the depth and breadth of China-Arab technology transfer and innovation cooperation exchanges. It is set to vigorously promote industry-university-research collaboration in clean energy between China, Arab states, and other Belt and Road Initiative countries, contributing new momentum to global green energy transition and sustainable development.
