From November 12 to 14, the 2024 Online Training on Green Agriculture for Belt and Road Countries was held by China-Arab States Technology Transfer Center (CASTTC) with the participation of more than 50 trainees from Morocco, Algeria, Egypt, Sudan, Lebanon, Gabon, Senegal and Iraq. Dr. Osama A. Rayis, Head of the Entrepreneurship Office, Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD), attended and delivered a speech at the opening ceremony.
Considering that green agriculture is one of the most common and urgent needs of the Belt and Road partner countries, CASTTC tailored this training to meet the actual needs suggested by the AOAD. Besides, focusing on the application of intelligent water-saving irrigation, UAV, and remote sensing technologies in agriculture, this training invited experts and entrepreneurs from National Engineering and Technology Center for Information Agriculture, Northwest A&F University, Nanjing Agriculture University, Ningxia University, Qingdao Greensum Ecology Co.,Ltd, West E-commerce Co.,Ltd, Tuo Gong (Nanjing) Robot Co., Ltd and CropMirror. During the training, they shared knowledge and answered the trainees’ questions in aspects of R&D of technological products, transformation and application of technological achievements and international cooperation.
This training, through well-designed lectures and presentations given by experts and entrepreneurs, has promoted the exchanges and cooperation between China and Belt and Road partners in agricultural technology. Moreover, the purpose of this training coincided with the ideas expressed by Dr. Osama in his speech, “In the era of Agriculture 4.0 to 5.0, the Belt and Road cooperation has deepened our friendship and brought us new opportunities for cooperation. Empowering agricultural production with modern technologies will further ensure global security and development and conserve ecological environment”.
