On February 27, the Contract for the Procurement of Wind-solar Complementary Water-conserving Irrigation Apparatus between China and Arab states was officially signed on the occasion of the technology transfer project held in Yinchuan. Officials including Mr. Yao Aixing, then Vice Governor of People’s Government of Ningxia, Mr. Cui Xiaohua, then Deputy Secretary-General of People’s Government of Ningxia, and Mr. Ma Qinggui, then Director-General of the Science and Technology Department of Ningxia, attended the signing ceremony, which marked the official implementation of the China-Arab states wind-solar complementary water-conserving irrigation technology transfer project.
The Contract for the Procurement of Wind-solar Complementary Water-conserving Irrigation Apparatus was signed by the China-Arab States (Dubai) Technology Transfer Center, Ningxia University (Research and Development Center for the Application of New Technologies) and Ningxia China-Arab States Technology Transfer Development Company. According to the contract, Ningxia University (Research and Development Center for the Application of New Technologies) will provide 1 million sets of wind-solar complementary water-conserving irrigation apparatus to the China-Arab States (Dubai) Technology Transfer Center so as to help boost the application of water-conserving agricultural technologies in Dubai, while Ningxia China-Arab States Technology Transfer Development Company is responsible for specific matters of agency on import and export.
Since the signing of the Framework Agreement on Science and Technology Cooperation between the Science and Technology Department of Ningxia and the Dubai Horticulture Department in June 2014, CASTTC has organized a number of matchmaking activities to clarify the technical needs of the Dubai side. Henceforth, Ningxia University (Research and Development Center for the Application of New Technologies) has been ed to be in charge of the water-conserving agricultural technology transfer with Dubai. The two sides finalized the scheme by steps for China-Arab states water-conserving agricultural technology transfer and reached confirmation in the form of agreement text after the due process of “introducing on-site visits and going out for field studies”. The project has entered the demonstration stage with the signing of the agreement.
The signing ceremony was presided over by Deputy Director Zhang Xinjun, and heads of relevant divisions of the Ningxia Science and Technology Department attended the event.
